From 2026 onwards, the FIH Hockey Pro League in Belgium will be played in a brand-new, purpose-built hockey stadium: the Belfius Hockey Arena in Waver. Fully dedicated to the sport and equipped with permanent seating, the venue marks a significant upgrade for international hockey events hosted in Belgium.
Construction of the arena began in the beginning of 2025 and is progressing according to plan, in close cooperation with the City of Waver, the Walloon Region and multiple institutional and commercial partners. Completion is scheduled in the beginnen of 2026, with the stadium set to open its doors in April 2026.

With 4,000 fixed seats, the Belfius Hockey Arena is designed to offer an intimate and high-quality spectator experience, bringing fans closer to the action. The venue will host major international competitions, including the FIH Hockey Pro League, where top national teams will compete in the final stretch of their preparation ahead of the Hockey World Cup in August 2026, just weeks later. The World Cup will be co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, alongside the venue in Amstelveen.
With its modern infrastructure and international ambition, the Belfius Hockey Arena offers a new and fitting stage for top-level hockey events in Belgium — starting with the FIH Hockey Pro League in 2026.
