FIH Hockey Pro League – Season 2 extended until June 2021

On Wednesday 15/04, the Belgian government communicated the extension of all existing sanitary and social measures until May 3, and added some new important regulations for the coming months.

One of these stipulates that mass events won’t be allowed before September 1, 2020 at the earliest. This automatically meant that all planned FIH Hockey Pro League games of May and June 2020 in Belgium (see list below), couldn’t take place according to the previous planned timing.

– 15 & 17 May BEL vs USA & BEL vs ESP
– 21 & 23 May BEL vs ARG
– 29 & 31 May BEL vs GBR
– 26 & 28 June BEL vs NED

The sanitary situation being similar in most of the countries participating in the Pro League and international/intercontinental travelling being prohibited, the International Hockey Federation (FIH), in consultation with all participating national associations, has decided to extend season 2 of the Pro League until June 2021Read the complete press release of the FIH here.

This means that all planned Pro League games of season 2020 will be played. It is the aim of the Royal Belgian Hockey Association, to organise those games in October 2020 and May-June 2021. For people who already purchased tickets for the games in May and June 2020, those tickets will remain valid for the new date. The KBHB/ARBH will now work on a new planning of all games to be played in Belgium. This will be communicated in due time.

In the meantime, we would like to encourage everybody to stick to the official sanitary and social measures. Take care of yourself, take care of others!
